Electrical Junction Box

I am wondering if anyone has changed out modified or anything to the wire junction box on the back side of the 5th wheel hitch.

What are you trying to do?

Unless there is a reason to move it, it's in the best protected spot.

Not trying to move it anywhere, the plastic clips that hold the cables in place are breaking and didn't know if others installed new (different) boxes or if anyone has done anything. I don't want the cable to get ripped out of the junction box but also can't find any of those plastic clips.

You can remove the cheesy plastic clips, and replace them with metal clamps. There is a variety of sizes and they will be rubber lined to prevent damage to the cable. Should be at your local H/W store.

Nice work, if I was to make that modification I would use auto reset circuit breakers.

Since the lines are already fused/circuit breaker equipped at the tow vehicle I'm not sure as to the necessary of adding either to the mix.

Although the installation looks to be cleanly done and very serviceable.

Ask for "P" clips, they come in a variety of sizes and materials. I use stainless with rubber for most applications. I have seen them in nylon, pvc, galvanized and aluminum.

I agree but if I were going to fuse them, I would check the tow vehicle owners manual and fuse them at the same rate.

Hey JR, Fuse sizes: backup-5amp,lft turn-15amp,charge line-40amp,tail/clr-20amp,rt turn-15amp,brks slug,no fuse. I used the glass tube fuse holder as it was the only one I could find that independent fuse connections were used.I wanted to use blade fuses, but all fuse blocks I found had a common "hot" terminal that fed all the fuses.---Lou---

Generally you can find an 'independent" fed fuse block at automotive parts suppliers...

This is for 6 blade fuses independently fed.
