Is this battery level right?

Hi guys/gals I'm doing the routine maintenance and checking things out and I was wondering if this level in the batteries is normal or low?
I checked on the suppliers site but I thought it would be better to ask here as there's full-timers here that know a bit more then me.
I think it's been 10 months since I bought the trailer, living full time and I'm just wondering how many times a yr that the batteries need topping up.

I would say that the water level is correct. You can't really put a number on how many times a year the level should be checked. It depends upon usage, temperature, battery condition, etc. As a rule of thumb, I'd check once every month or two if I were full-timing. Your batteries are being constantly charged which makes regular checking and topping up if necessary more crucial.

So do I wait till it hits the plates then add? And if that's the case is it just normal water that's been boiled?
I remember back in the day if the level was at the bottom of the plastic that was normal, is that correct?

You don't want the plates exposed. You should refill with distilled water before the tops of the plates are showing.

Wal Mart has it by the gallon too. I use it with my coolant in my diesel.

I check my batteries once a month and top them off regardless of where the current level is (unless it is at the top of the stop ring) That way you never have to worry. Oh, and ware safety glasses. I saw a battery blow up twice in my life and it ain't pretty.

Well I finally found some distilled water and topped off the batteries so that's all good now
Now I'm wondering what to do with the rest! I was kind of thinking that distilled water is what they use to make hooch with correct so maybe that might be a plan.
Is it pretty easy to make moonshine or should this be left up to the backwoods experts?

Steve -

You can keep it and use it to top up your batteries when you check them again later OR

You can pour some in your steam iron for when you next iron your shirts, pants, etc.......

Steve S. Howdy;

... or you can mix it with your anti-freeze for a nice clean 50/50 mixture ...

Make some moonshine, but save some and put it with the batteries, you will be adding regularly if you charge all the time. Not a lot, but you will be adding again, and again, and again,

I Googled moonshine and it seems that there's a bit more to it then just mash and water I'm thinking that this could be a dangerous project so I'm going to step back from this one

I'm sure it's imported into Canada. They sell the "real" moonshine in mason jars at many liquor stores. Here's the "commercial" brand, not the "home-made" brand.

I'm thinking from the way you're talking, Steve, that you've got the "distilling" part on the wrong end.... The water used in "stillin shine" has to come from special streams, just the right bit of lime and lye and iron and ??? Then, any ole water can be used in the "stillin" process, it's just used to condense the "shine" so it'll drip into the jar.....

Any way, the distillin' happens after the mash and water are mixed and "set a bit".... Not that I'd know nuffin' bout that sort of thang......
