problem mounting equalizer sway bar on 28RBS

Hello,
I have a 28RBS and I'm trying to mount the equalizer swing arm. My L-bracket and link plate are lining up right with the plate that holds the propane tanks. If I go behind the cross bar I am past the recommended 32", if I go in front of the propane tanks I'm below the 27" requirement. I know some of you with the same model said you had no trouble. Any ideas on what I am doing wrong? The only option I see is to cut into the cross bar and notch out the space I need.

I have the same issue with my 28RBS with a friction sway control unit. I just did not put it on. My "Husky" brand WD hitch fits just forward of the tank mounts.

We had to move the propane bracket backward a little on our 2510rb. Put screws in the old holes. Every thing fits nice and looks good.

equalizer

Yup, unscrew the propane tank and move it back out of the way. Re-screw it.

And don't use the chain type load leveler with this camper or you will be taking off the propane cover every time you hitch unless you cut large notches for the chain flip bracket. Get the Equal-I-zer brand .... no chains or overhand bars to use.
