Under Bed Storage

We previously owned two Cougars and are currently in SOB, but looking at the Laredo. Is there some reason the 266RL does not have nay storage under the bed?

When we were looking for our current unit it seems that none of the Laredo's had any storage under the bed slide. Thought that by now this would have been added.

My cougar is a 318SAB with a bedroom slide and this too does not have under bed storage. I had to fix one of the bed room slide rollers on the bed support last year, so I removed the mattress and the plywood covers that support the mattress. Under these items is the slide mechanism that opens and closes the slide. It is easier for the manufacture to eliminate the storage feature than try to design in limited storage capacity under the bed. Remember that whatever is placed under the bed will need to be supported by the bed frame and moved with it as the slide is opened and closed. The bed frame would have to be reinforced to support the bottom plate (board) that would support these items that are in the under bed storage area.
I believe this is why it is not done on the Keystone campers with slides. Just my opinion.

Our Cougar is the same. Slide mechanism and support structure is in the space under the bed platform. Thus no storage area as it comes from Keystone.

I looked at mine with an eye to adding some storage in there. It's doable, but not high on my list of projects at the moment.

My Montana does have storage under the bed but I would never put anything heavy in there. Extra linens maybe. Not crazy about adding weight to that slide.
