New 2022 301UBH question on Solar?

We just got a new 301UBH and in process of getting it set up. Has solar 200 system. I noticed the TV not operating even though the plug says inverter ready? Not on shore power was trying to see if I’m missing something? Getting the adapter for 50amp to 120 regular today but I’m pretty sure the TV should operate either way? Any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum

Congrats on your new purchase. If your TV is 110VAC then you need either shore power or an inverter. Solar alone won’t power any AC appliances.

If your camper has solar, it most likely has an inverter also. Do you have a residential refrigerator (all electric), or is it an RV refrigerator (gas and electric). If you have a residential refrigerator, then you also have an inverter.

In order for the inverter to operate, you'll need to turn off the kill switch that runs between the battery and the inverter. It's a red dial switch, near your batteries. Second you need to make sure the inverter is actually turned on. Depending on your specific model, the inverter many not automatically "turn on" when power hits it from the battery. You may have to push a button on the inverter to turn it on.

The inverter will run non-stop them, until you either physically turn it off or kill the battery (or the battery runs down). A transfer switch will detect if the camper is plugged into shore power. If it's plugged into shore power, the transfer switch will switch to shore power. Shore power always trumps when plugged in. The transfer switch will switch off the draw from the battery. But it does NOT shut off the inverter, it just transfers available power for the camper from the battery to shore power.

If the trailer looses shore power, if you unplug the trailer. The transfer switch flips the available power back to the inverter and now your power for a selected few outlets is actually getting power via the battery, via the inverter.

More than likely, you do not have the inverter turned on yet.

This is the "fact sheet about the SolarFlex 200 system: https://www.keystonerv.com/solarflex-200-overview

NOTE THAT THERE IS NO INVERTER INCLUDED IN THE FACTORY INSTALL.

All that's included in the 200 package is a roof panel, a means to connect to an included charge controller and a "loop of ROMEX" that you can cut to insert an aftermarket inverter (which is NOT included) so the outlets that are marked "inverter" can then be powered by your inverter.

There are no batteries included with the 200 system, so depending on what your dealer installed for you, there may not be enough battery power to do much more than power the lights and furnace through the night.

Your SolarFlex 200 system is the "basic bare bones" in solar systems and won't do anything but charge your battery (if it was properly connected by the dealer). Any "inverter installation" is extra cost and either done by the dealer or by the owner, after delivery. If your sales contract doesn't include an inverter installation, then your "inverted outlets" don't have inverter power....

You can download the Quick Start Guide here: https://keystone-rv-dealer-app.cdn.p...2321_PRINT.pdf

Note just above the cell phone picture, in blue, is this statement:
"YOU CAN ADD AN INLINE INVERTER (NOT INCLUDED IN SF 200) THAT CONVERTS THE 12 VOLT POWER TO 120 VOLT POWER AND SUPPLIES 120 VOLT POWER TO THE LABELED INVERTED RECEPTACLES"
