Adding flat panel tv mount

I want to add a flat panel tv where the red oval is. The salesman says there is a stud there and it shouldn't be a problem . . . we haven't taken delivery yet but I know this is one thing I will want to do asap. Any tip/pointers/concerns about doing this?

When I see a tv shelf I have to assume '08 or older. From the floor-plan there may be a sliding door to the bedroom to consider. Attaching the base of the flatscreen to the shelf may be another option and also give a better viewing angle. If you can locate one beam you should be okay. JM2¢, Hank

If you haven't signed the paperwork yet, have the dealer throw in the mount/work. At a minimum the work.

I basically have the same setup in the front of my '06 301BHS. There should be a stud just about in the middle of the wall. Also, you can through bolt this if needed since you will have full access from the other side. You can always use some wood to beef up both sides of the mount (sandwich like).

sorry guys, I thought I had my signature set up, TT is a 2006 304bhs. Sounds like the short answer is YES, I can bolt to the aluminum stud, I was unsure about that. Also, didn't think about mounting something to the TV stand, good idea. Thanks for the quick input!

That's an inside wall ... the stud will most likely be wood. 2x2.

x2 You're not likely to find an aluminium stud on an inside wall.

Ahhh, ok, good to know. So I can just use my stud finder, sounds easy enough.

Didn't buy one, I had one sitting in the garage so I used it. Thanks though!
