Typically, two power items don't "magically fail" at the same time, so it's likely a power issue rather than a awning issue.
First, is there a remote control for the trailer? Many during that time frame had both "manual switches" and a "remote control" capability. If one doesn't work, usually the other will.... So, if you have a remote, have you tried it????
If that fails, I'd start by pulling the control panel from the wall and checking power input to the awning switches. They're likely tied to the same power source wire, and if there's power on both switches, then move to the ground on both awnings.
If there is not power on the awning switch input, you should be able to jumper the switches from another source to retract them, then start your troubleshooting to find the problem.
