ok...shoot me down. How about this battery?

https://www.amazon.com/CHINS-LiFePO4...35315637&psc=1

wow...long link but it is a:

"12V 300Ah Lithium Iron Phosphate Battery, Built-in 200A BMS, 2000+ Cycles, Each Battery Can Output 3840WH Energy, Perfect for RV, Caravan, Solar, Marine, Home Storage and Off-Grid"

Price is comparable to a 200 amp hour lead acid set up but offers much faster recharge rate (ie, USE That 5kw genset much more efficiently), greater over all life that lead acid and lighter.

What do you think?

Lots of info on DIYSolar forum, have been considering them myself. But sounds like a roll of the dice! Good luck!

The major issue with a LiON battery is that the charging profile is not the same as a traditional battery, and therefore not the same as how your charging converter is tuned. To keep them totally happy requires a swapout of your converter for one with the proper charging profile, which is doable -- but keep in mind that most of our rigs come equipped with a converter that is integrated into the fusebox. The conversion is possible but it cascades several components deep.

Also, I would be extremely hesitant to make a four-figure purchase from an Amazon retailer with a name likely assembled from a throw of a set of Scrabble dice. Some of the reviews on this one are alarming. In particular, there are a number of high-star reviews accompanied by low-star text (including the "top positive review"), and one explaining that the company requires bad reviews to be edited before providing refunds or exchanges.

I think the costco golf cart batteries at around 100 each last 5 plus years and if I remember right are 200 ah are a bolt on fix at a much lower price. I will admit I did not take the time to read about all the specs, when I seen the price that was enough.
Maybe for a cabin but not in my RV.
I reality a person could remove and change everything in todays RV and improve on it. I have with many small items, but refuse to remake the RV to replace one item with a better one. Mainly when something breaks it gets a upgrade. But it's not my money, spend yours the way you wish. Get it and give us a report on cost and benefits.
