TV's and Winter

I know we're experiencing temperatures in the 80's and 90's right now but can you leave the LCD TV in the camper over the winter? We have pretty frigid winter temperatures here and I don't know if that will harm the TV's. I guess I'm wondering that now because we just bought our first camper that has a TV.

The only warnings I have seen has been that some say not to operate below 40°F. TVs are shipped all over the world in unheated trucks and containers. I think your trailer in PA. will be fine. Many will disagree with this .... I can hear them coming now. JM2¢, Hank

Samsung
For all of their LCD TV sets: -4* F to 113* F

I can't say if it is "right or wrong" but we store our RV in an unheated covered pole barn during the winter. We regularly have temps that drop to - 30F and stay there for up to a week at a time. Through 2 winters now, our LCD TV has been just fine. There is a note in the owner's manual about picture degredation if it is operated in freezing temperatures. The suggested "fix" is to allow the TV to warm up and to reapply power and the picture should return to normal.

I live in upstate NY and it gets into the -20 F range during the winter. I leave mine in year round.

We usually pull ours in the winter just to be on the safe side. I'd rather take the 5 minutes or less to take it out then having to replace it if something happened to it durring the winter cold. It just gives us a piece of mind.

Thanks everyone! The TV's are designed to come out pretty easy, at least in the Hideout that we have so we might just pop it out in the winter. The other reason we wanted to know is because we're going to put one in our garage so that we can watch it while we're on the treadmill and using the weight machine. Should be better for us than couch sitting while our shows are on.

Thought about taking ours out last winter since it was the very 1st year with the LCD, but since it was wall mounted & I did a bit of research as well, decided to leave it in... Someone else didn't think it was a good idea though & broke into the camper (permanent site) & stole the tv, cd's, dvd's & ransacked the entire camper right after the 1st of the year.. Insurance helped out quite a bit, although we did take the depreciation loss on some of the older stuff.. Even had to have the door replaced since they used a tire iron to pry which in turn deformed the framework... All good now though & this year, we will take the freestanding tv with us along with most everything else of value! Simply sucks that there are people out there that just don't give a crap about other peoples stuff...

I have alway left mine in the camper for the winter. but it is in the driveway at home with the dogs so it is still in the camper. sorry about the break in that sucks
