Curtains

I own a 2020 Keystone Cougar 24SABWE. Due to family schedules and moving from California to Utah we have only been able to take it out camping 3 times. In that period of just over one year the curtains have broken twice and been repaired by the dealer. They are now broken again and I'm out of the Keystone warranty.

I've called and emailed Keystone several times. o return calls and one email that said go to the dealer.

This problem is a design flaw and that is what the dealer told me the first time. You cant expect curtains to fold up and over a large window opening knob without some problems. The mounting hardware keeps coming off. We now have to use recycled cardboard tubes to keep the curtain up in the main living are of the trailer.

Thanks Keystone for no help.

Any thoughts?

Thanks, Vern

Curtains or window shades or blinds?

Yeah. The idiots did the same thing in mine. There are two heights of window knob, and they installed the tall one. Wouldn't have been a big thang except they also enclosed the shade in a tight side valence.

You need the short one for this application. You'll still have to tweak your bottom runner to slip it past the knob, but it's practically effortless.

You can't just cut off the stem of your current knob, because it's splined and the screw-hole needs to be set back more or you won't really shorten it.

Do a web search for:

RV Designer H711 2-1/4" Black 1/2" Shaft Plastic Window Crank Knob

Just make sure you don't buy the long one again by mistake.

Here are before and after closeups of this assembly mistake. I went from the three-spoke knob to the round one, because I couldn't find the three-spoke in short.

You're still going to have to fix the broken shade, but only one more time.

Manual day/night shade repair isn't all that hard if it's just a snapped cord. You can get the right cord here.
