Passport 2400BH - underneath amber lamp
Hello everyone !
I'm a new owner of this 2018 Passport 2400BH and last Saturday was our first camp experience !
I noticed underneath trailer, driver side, just above dump valve an amber lamp who insist to stay on for a while....
Does anyone have any idea what is this for?
I got an fault indicator on...but I found this was for water heater...
I'm still looking for an answer regarding this lamp.
Any suggestions?
thank you in advance !
Robert

It's there just to illuminate the dump valves. It's only on when hooked up to AC power, not when running on DC (battery). My Passport 2920BH has the same light.

I was thinking about that...but why is not white? to be more bright?
Does it have any switch for ON/OFF?

Probably because the company uses an "off the shelf" clearance light and the choice is either red or yellow ????? YMMV

It is connected to your awning light usually. when you illuminate your LED awning or outdoor lighting it will come on with it.

On my old Passport the amber light above the dump valves was connected to the light outside the entrance door. Whenever the switch for the outside light was on, that light was also illuminated.

One of the reasons for amber instead of white is to reduce the bugs it attracts. On both the Passports I owned it was tied into my porch light and switch.

You know what, I’m thinking back and I have a remote control for the lights. They switch may have been on, but my remote for the lights could have been off. So it may very well come on and off with the switch and my remote control just masked that. Sorry for the confusion!

I know this is an old thread but wanted to add my experience. Got home from picking up our new trailer two weeks ago and noticed the amber light underneath by the dump valves was on all the time, no matter what. I read this post and decided to just pull the bulb for the time being. Finally dug into it today with the help of the uniform wiring code sheet. Pulled the switch panel by the door and found three orange/white wire pairs (exterior light circuits). One for underneath light, one for awning light and one for exterior light by hitch (hot all the time and switched on/off by a switch on the light itself). Found that the light for underneath by the dump valves was tied into the hitch light circuit (always hot), which is why it was always on. A cut here and a splice there and it’s finally all working as it should be now (dump valve courtesy light goes on/off with porch light). I doubt I will ever find it useful but it bothered me not having it working right.

Just got our 2021 KEYSTONE PASSPORT 240BH last month and was wondering how to turn it on also so thank you to whoever said it's connected to porch light, that was it. I understand why they did that for at night you can see outside on both sides of trailer for easier in and outs. 😊

No light
My 2014 23 RBWE Hideout doesn't have the light when turning any outside light on.
Would be kinda nice for evening dumping under certain circumstances.
