Blown fuse

Keystone Sprinter keeps blowing fuse marked SLIDE. Light over dinette has 2 black bulbs. I replaced bulbs and still blows. Disconnected light and it still blows.... what am I not doing? I can’t test anything because it’s getting no power with the fuse blown

Hum,.... since no one else has chimed in I'll take a guess.

When exactly does the fuse blow? Immediately when you install it? or when you switch the dinette light on or?

I wonder if this fuse also powers the slide motor?

What size Amp fuse is this?

Sounds like a dead short if fuse blows as soon as it's replaced. What blows when you disconnect the light?

Fuse

Check the wiring under the slide. There is free lengths under with some sort it carriage. I have found pinched wiring or where mice have eaten the wire insulation away there, just get on your back under the open slide and look up.

Answer

Sorry the fuse is labeled BUNK but it seems to only control the light above the dinette and couch. The slide motor works fine. The fuse blows instantly when inserted. Also I have no AC, is the thermostat 12v ? And could the thermostat be tied into this also?
I looked underneath and notice no damaged/eaten wires.

I'd suggest removing the lights on that circuit and inspect for a short to ground. T'stat may be on same circuit. Remove the T'stat and check for voltage.
