Coming to Alaska? People start showing up middle of May usually but there are early snow birds too.

Got that part, but which part of the West Coast?? Washington, Oregon, and/or California? What attractions in each state?

We are headed to AZ for grandsons graduation from ASU then on to CA. Staying near Oxnard to visit son there. Then on to San Antonio and Dallas. Visiting family in Plano. The back east to we think Hilton Head. Eventually home we think by June. Plans always change though.

Sounds like a great trip, come back, post pictures and tell us about it.
Check out Lockhart's BBQ, in "downtown" Plano, the Burnt Ends Bloody Mary is a meal on its own.

Sante Fe
Got some info that a stop in Sante Fe NM is a good idea. Looked at several campgrounds there and was not impressed. Looking to stay in Albuquerque then visit Sante Fe. Anybody been there. Also we booked Venture Ranch KOA. They say they have rebuilt after the Thomas Fire. Anybody have anything on that.

Santa Fe vs Albq? There's no choice to that to me; Santa Fe. It has been many decades since I used an RV in either place but I go there quite often.
Santa Fe has so much history it would take weeks and weeks to see and experience what is there. The city is unique, unique history, unique activities, unique food and is beautiful.
Albuquerque is the largest city in NM. I has the highest crime rate per capita in the state. The last I knew the Albq. PD was under the hand of the U.S. Justice Dept. due to the excessive crime, the way they handled it and/or suspected improprieties in the dept.
Unless there is a specific reason to be in Albq. I would find the nicest RV park in Santa Fe, book it, go, then enjoy a very unique experience vs staying Albq. with nothing to offer (IMO) but big city shopping and violence along with the long daily drive to get to Santa Fe. JMO

Wow thanks. Good advice. We'll just make a right turn off I40 and head to Sante Fe.

I stayed at Santa Fe Skies last September. It's just outside of town, but you can get into town quickly.

Good luck and safe travels. I know you are excited. Hope you have a great time and the rain lets up. Little brother emailed me last evening and said it is still raining cats and dogs in Allen, TX, very near Plano.
If you go to Santa Fe try to arrange being there on the weekend if you can and try to make plans to spend time on the square. It's an experience if you've never been there. There are also some very good restaurants nearby for some authentic food you probably won't get anywhere else. Lots of history there too so do some research before you go. We always stay at La Fonda on the plaza and manage to keep ourselves busy for days at a time.
