Tire monitor systems

There are several tire monitoring systems available on the market, some have sealed non-replaceable batteries whereas others have Li button cells which can be replaced. Both claim superior design. Does anyone have any experience with a specific brand one can recommend.

They are rather expensive so I really do not to make an error the first time around.

Thanks for any input.

A search will reveal a lot of info on tire pressure monitoring systems. To the OP's question, many of us use the TireMinder/TireTraker system (same product, just from different vendors) which uses sensors mounted on the valve stems with replaceable button cells and I don't think I've read a bad review yet so it seems like no one is having any particular problems with them. Personally I think that replaceable batteries are a big plus as replacing the entire sender when the battery fails (as many systems require) can get expensive. There is at least a theoretical advantage of the potted (single-use), inside-the-wheel sensors in that they are said to be more reliable than external sensors, but I'm not sure that is really proving out in the real world.

I love my Pressure Pro. Designed, manufactured, and supported in America by Americans. Has worked great for over 7 years now. So far no need for new batteries, and mine are on one vehicle or another year round. Batteries are factory replace for $30 per sensor so they say, haven't tried that yet. Do a search on Pressure Pro, bet you find near zero unhappy customers.

We have the TireMinder system. It works for us.

We have it as a tool to let us know of large changes in pressure or temps while driving. I do check the tires during stops as well.
