New to posting. Looking for routes and campgrounds for trip in June 2016. From TN planning on going thru KY, MO, CO, SD, ID, UT, NV, CA, AZ, NW, TX, OK, AK, LA, AL, GA then back home. Any help on routes and campgrounds would be appreciated.

What kind of camping are you looking for? Full hookups or primitive? What kind of RV do you have? What kind of stuff do you want to see? Different cities and towns or natural features? I can give you some hints for southern Idaho and northern Nevada and a little into northern California.

Trip sounds like a lot of fun. Lots of stuff to see.

First off

Personally, Id use some sort of mapping app, decide what sites I (and anyone else),
might want to see/visit along the way. Thn figure out how far it is from one to the
next to the next to the ... you get the point. Then figure how far you feel comfortable
towing the RV each day. Then use a site like http://www.campgroundreviews.com/
or some other RV park rating site to check out the "where" you may wish to spend a
night or a few days.

Takes a bit of head scratching but you've plenty of time ... use it wisely.

Oh, by the way, the 2 letter for New Mexico is NM not NW ...

We love KOA. If you'll be using that type of campground vs national park, state park, etc., you can literally plan a whole trip like yours (we have) using the KOA Directory. You can pick it up at any KOA. While we're traveling, we plan ahead distance-wise by using the Directory. Occasionally we stay at a Cracker Barrel or Walmart just for fun. If we're going to a national park or state park and want to stay there and can get a reservation (usually need way in advance with a few first-come sites available early in the day), we may do that. If we're in a good boondocking area like Wyoming or Utah, we sometimes do that. The KOA Directory fills in all the gaps. We don't make reservations more than a day ahead, and only a handful of times have we not been able to get a reservation the morning of the day we plan to stay. Beware of busy tourist spots and holidays like Labor Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, etc. KOA rates are usually between $45 - $65 per night full hookup. Don't mean to sound like a KOA salesperson, but we've always had great luck with them for long road trips.

ADD: Hey. Wyoming's not on that list. You'll miss out big time (no bias intended).

And therein lies the problem. Unless I am mistaken, one cannot get from South Dakota to Idaho without going through Wyoming or Montana...preferably both.

We probably also need to know how much time you plan to spend on this trip.
