No furnace

I had to replace the battery in my 2001 Springdale last night and this morning by furnace will not turn on. Propane - OK. Tried running fan; will not turn on. When I replaced the battery, I noticed someone has put some kind of relay on it. What is that for?

Camping in northern VA, so I need heat real soon. Would appreciate help!

Be sure to check all fuses to be sure nothing happened when you changed the battery. Have you checked everything else. Does the fridge still work on propane etc.

Battery wires on a RV are not color coded like your car .... white is ground (NEG) black is hot (POS) ... if you reversed polarity you have blown some fuses. What you call a relay may be the main auto-reset fuse (circuit breaker) but I can't be sure without a photo. As mentioned, does anything else 12v work???

Refrig

I traced the wires of the relay and they go to the power lift on the trailer tongue.

I have a Dometic refrigerator. The freezer seems to be working but not the fridge. Sometimes the refrigerator light is on (though dim). At other times it flickers. I have switched to propane but not sure it is working. When I switch to electric both auto and check light are. Propane- just check light.

I have another problem that maybe related as they both happened at the same time. The furnace will turn on as well. Tried running just fan & it will not run. Turned stat up as far as it will go. Usually I hear a click from the thermostat but not now.

I am a newbie to Rving and love it but to be truthful if I have problems like these every time I camp, I may consider selling my camper.

Check your ground wire and connections. Also have you checked the fuses.
