100lb propane tank hook up

I have 2 -30lb tanks one on each side of my Montana 5th wheel - I want to un hook one and jump to a 100lb tank for extended stay in cooler weather - the hoses in side the portals are very short - what extension hose would I need and are there any other parts? Should be fairly simple but would like opinions and perhaps a link to a recommended hose on perhaps amazon!

You can get "pig tails" in various lengths. Just switch them out as needed.

Make sure to check for leaks at the regulator when you change them.

Welcome to the forum!

I full-time and have a 125# tank hooked in. Find which side has the
RED single stage regulator, that's the side you will want to hook the
larger tank into. Then call the propane Co. you will be getting your
propane from. Let them hook you up, they will ensure it is done properly,
will check for leaks and pressure check the system. Yea, they'll charge
you a few bucks but ... how much is safety and security worth???
Added plus is if you have questions they will be right there to answer them.

I changed out both my pigtails to ~5 foot long ones, at home I set a bbq bottle under the overhang and drop one of the pigtails out the bottom under the tanks, then attach to the external tank. Same method should work for you.

I've spent winters in Big Pine Fishing Lodge and 65°F is considered freezing there. Personally, I think the two 30 pounders will be plenty, seeing as there is a hardware store just down the road with reasonable fills if you do get low. Be sure to leave your snow shovel home too. JM2¢, Hank
