Roof caulking fix

Found this small hole in the caulking this morning on the back corner of the roof. Please tell me what kind of caulking to use. I’m confused on non leveling ,self leveling, dicor, butly tape. Do I need to remove what’s there or can I put new on top of the old.

Thanks

Give the area a good cleaning with Fantastic (or some other cleaner) and then dry it off.

Then apply Dicor self leveling sealant to the area.

I have repaired small holes like that by washing the area with soap and water, rinse and dry, and gently cut away the sealant with a razor knife being careful to not cut the roofing material. Cut it back until you remove all the old dessicated material and clean with some alcohol and let dry. On the roof, I use Dicor self levelling sealant. Put some sealant into the hole and blend it into the surrounding sealant and you're done! Easy. Also, it is a good idea to bring along some Eternabond tape while you are on the road. Can really save the day in case of an OOps!!

Dicor makes self leveling sealant for horizontal surfaces and non-self leveling for vertical (like sidewalls). The non-self leveling won't run when warm and if you use self leveling on sidewalls, it will run all over the side of your camper. Use the self leveling which is great for the roof. Clean the area around the hole with denatured alcohol and and cover the hole with self leveling Dicor. No need for cutting away old sealant.

Gotta disagree with cutting away old sealant. When i repaired my leaking slide I had a blob of sealant that if left on the slide would have definitely caused problems with the seals. In some instances big blobs of whatever needs scaled back to fix it right.

On the roof it isn't necessary to cut off the old sealant unless its peeling away from the membrane. On a SLIDE roof you may want to cut it off, but even then you need to be extremely careful, I use a plastic putty knife and peel it off.
