Emergency help logging in

I have tried to post a message 3 times. Each time I post the message on the 5th wheel site, as we have a 2015 Keystone Cougar 5th wheel, and we need emergency advice for where to get parts to repair, it says: We are either not logged in (which we were logged in each time), or it says we don't have permission to post. Can you please help us? Thank you.

Your post showed up. What type of emergency parts do you need?

Help with parts PLEASE

We have a 2015 Keystone Cougar 5thw. It ran into the back of our pick up truck, damaging the door to the underneath storage compartment on the front of the RV.

Why? We took the RV to Camping world in Longmont CO in mid-March and have been fighting with them since July to get the job done. They finally called last Thursday to say we could pick it up on Friday (5 days ago). We came directly there from the ER Vet hospital where our beloved dog had just had a splenectomy and the 2 vet docs determined he has a metastasized cancer with 3 months left. Going to get the camper needed to be a quick pick up and leave, as we had the pup in the truck and it was 90 degrees outside.

It took CW 4 hours to test everything in our presence to confirm all was fixed. They couldn't find an outside outlet that worked during those 4 hours and moving the RV all over their lot to try out different outlets. Solution? Take it to one of their inside stalls with one of their tow equipment where customers can't go and have us take their word that all items are in working order. Only problem is that when they took the RV out of the stall to tell us the RV was good to go, they forgot to attach the wedge and bolts for the Reese's Sidewinder hitch. We attempted to drive home 5,000' elevation from CW only to hear/and see half way up the mountain the RV was tracking 3' to the right of the truck, and the Sidewinder hitch was 90 degrees from the frame of the trailer hitch. The RV was wedged into the back of the tailgate, and bumper hitch causing damage to both, including the brake system from the truck to the RV. Took 3 hours to detach the RV from the truck.

While it may seem trivial, we were planning to leave with our pup on Sunday for what the vets recommended was a last hurrah in whatever was his favorite place before he is unable to do any more traveling.

We called CW late Friday afternoon from the dirt road where we had to pull apart the RV from the truck, and they said we could come pick up "a" wedge and bolts from them on Saturday so we could pick up the stranded RV. On Saturday, 4 hours drive later we are trying to put them on the hitch and neither fit but we pulled it home at 10mph anyway.

Called CW Saturday and told them neither item fit the camper and they said they would have someone call us back asap. Tuesday, we called them. They say they will send a repair guy "in a few days" to our location and they shipped us overnight the used wedge and bolts parts. What about the holes in the storage compartment? They claim they don't know the size and will have to measure it, order the parts and have it back to do the replacement. How can CW not find specs for our RV?

The door measures 59"wide x 21"high, hinged at the top with 2 twist locks on the bottom. With sizeable holes in it, we want to replace it in the next couple days so we can take this trip. The Keystone Cougar website doesn't show replacement parts (that I could find) that are for our age RV. Surely they exist. IF someone from CW does show up sometime this week, we still want to try to take our pup out for a one week trip to see Colorado's epic fall colors. The last thing we want to do is give CW back the RV!

We are filled with grief and are beyond livid at CW. Any advice on our situation so that we can make this trip would be so welcome. Thank you.

Perhaps putting the model Cougar in your signature would help someone find a replacement door source. Trekwood.com may have them.

I couldn’t get much past your pup’s problems. Just breaks my heart! George just posted (a man with 7 dogs whose wife would trade him for a dog most any day) a good idea to help us out.

The door that was damaged should have a sticker on it, probably on the thin edge somewhere, or possibly the interior that gives a size/ model number for the door itself. That is probably what CW would want to order a replacement door. Reason I was given for a dealer needing this is because not all 2015 Cougars have the exact same size door, plus they may have to have Lippert make the door itself if one isn’t available. And that’s when the dimensions given on that label would be important.
