Interesting fireplace idea
So, this is a an interesting idea, but not sure what to think about mist/ water being added into a camper. Seems like it could cause more of an issue when some campers/ people are already battling moisture issues in their campers from humidity, etc.
Ugh, and of course, since I’m doing this from my iPad the photo posts sideways. Sorry, everyone!

I apologize in advance because I know this is going to sound snarky, but - - -
a more interesting fireplace idea would be to eliminate the darn thing altogether. It is practically useless as an adequate heater and even if it was useful it can only be used while plugged in or having a generator running. We used ours once. Now it just sits there taking up space that could have been used for drawers/storage. Just my opinion. I realize YMMV.

This one is actually worse than that....it is not a heater. They are installed into a flat horizontal surface (taking up not only cabinet space, but now counter space). It does not generate heat, it just creates "a cozy ambiance". It creates a fake open flame using LED lights and water vapor from regular tap water. At upwards of $2,000 it is an awful expensive gadget that doesn't actually do anything.
Plus, as Lynette said, adding more humidity to an already humidity-prone RV isn't a great idea.

There's another thread that borders on this same type of "new things for RV's"... https://www.keystoneforums.com/forum...ad.php?t=58916
It's all about "improved bling"... Common sense and practicality no longer required or considered.....

I am too poor or perhaps cheap to buy a new trailer but I have always admired all those blue light specials out there... you know, the ones with blue mood lights all over everything. I found that if you buy some of those bug catcher things that plug into a wall outlet which have blue lights and catch bugs on a sticky card, you can achieve almost the same ambiance. These are a lot cheaper than a trailer with factory blue mood lights. OH YEAH, speaking of blue lights, last K-Mart is gone next month. There were over 2000 K-Marts operating at the turn of the 21st Century and perhaps the blue light special sparked my fascination.

My 2019 Passport had blue LED lights EVERYWHERE. I liked the idea of floor lighting if the child had to get up in the night, so I swapped out the annoying blue lights with a lower color temperature white LED (soft white). My new Cougar only has blue lights around the stove knobs, the ones under the front edge of the theater seating are soft white LED's (go figure). Our daughter is 11 now, so she doesn't get up in the night any more...it's hard enough to get her up at 9 o'clock in the morning

To each his own, but I happen to like my electric fireplace (space heater). I have used it many times. Works great. We only boondock so I use it on a generator, and don't use the furnace, uses propane and runs down the batteries.

Like Gila, we like our fireplace heater. The furnace has never even been operated……way too loud.

We have never used our furnace. I know it worked when we did the walkthrough in early May, but have not tried it since. We actually like the electric “fireplace” as our heat source, clean and quiet and free to use. The only thing I don’t like is that I can’t turn off the light effects. Amazingly it heats up the entire 5th wheel if we leave the front and rear bedroom doors open. We are scheduled for weekend camping trips through early November, so we will keep using it unless we get too cold and are forced to run the furnace to keep the pipes from freezing.

What will they think of next? Says it is designed to "enhance luxury and comfort" -???? It performs no function other than give the illusion of a fake flame while introducing misty moisture into an RV....I'm not sure what that enhances but sure doesn't seem like it would be luxury or comfort....as the walls start dripping condensate.
The regular type fireplace in the RV? We like it. We don't stay in zero temps any longer so it does a good job of heating the trailer. Combined with the heat pump - you only need one or the other until it gets cold enough for the heat pump to stop. When it gets colder we run the furnace of course. DW loves to sit in her recliner either early AM or late PM with the fireplace on, sometimes with no heat, because she likes looking at it. On the other hand I liked the fireplace in our last trailer that looked somewhat like a flame. These new ones with all the "colors" - I wish I could just turn them off but all I can do is change the "color".....and, DW would not appreciate it.

I personally see no use for this type of fireplace as it does nothing but take up space that is desperately needed inside a 480 square foot box (or less). That's a lot of space that's needed for other things.
At least the "conventional" electric fire place in my current Montana throws out heat (which we use all the time in the cold months).
