Moving Dinette Table down

Hello,
My wife and I had a great time this past labor Day weekend camping with our two pups! Can't wait to go again. Everything worked as it should, but, we realized the dinette table is positioned so that the two chairs that back up to the wall are too tight when trying to sit at the table.

Has anyone unscrewed the 4 legs from the floor and moved their table down about 4" to 6" and re secured it? Is there any harm to the underneath of that slide out or when bringing the slide out back in ? Any issues I should be concerned with? Without knowing for sure, are they actually screws holding the table in place or are they nuts and bolts?

Any advice is appreciated,
Thank you,
Ed

Originally, our table was situated in the same position as yours. We hated it that way, and I ended up unscrewing the screws, that when through the 4 feet of the table and directly into the floor, and then turned the table 90 degrees up tight in the corner and used only 2 chairs. I screwed it back down in that same position with the same screws.

If you reposition the table and use the same screws, they will not extend any farther into the floor than they do right now. Yes, you can move the table.

We eventually removed all the screws and left the table 100% free standing as we moved it around. Eventually, all 4 chairs came out, and later the table came came completely too. We did not like that table at all.

We ended up putting the table from our house kitchen in that spot. It was bigger and served a better purpose. Finally, that table was removed also and now we just have a small 4 foot, light weight folding office table there. When we travel, we simply fold up the legs and lay it flat on the floor. No chairs any more.

But to answer your question, 4 screws in the feet of the table, re-attach with the same screws, no problem repositioning the table.

And just for an FYI, those screws will be Robertson Headed screws. They have the square hole and take a square headed screw driver:

Thanks dutchmensport for your response. I may just unscrew the table from the floor and use it so we could move it around in that area and when it's time to pull the slide out in, make sure it lines up where it is currently and with the chairs being tethered down that would should keep it in place.

I have also had the problem of the tight quarters for the one set of chairs. After unscrewing the table from the floor I noticed that there is a spring hinge under the table top. Opened it and the table will slide about 6 inches either way. Rescrewed the base to the floor in the original spot and latch while in motion and unlatch when I am in motion at the table.

I did remove the four screws holding the table in place, and can move the table where we want just like at home, so that should be alright. The four chairs will get re secured using the straps when we pull the slide in, so the table would have to go back to its original location for that and the chairs will hold the table in place (not re attaching table to floor).

I didn't check yet to see if the table has a spring hinge, next time I'm in the trailer I will look.

Thanks,
Ed
