Items from recent 3000+ mile trip
1. Since this was during the heat of the summer across the Midwest and into Southern New England I wasn't going to chance losing food in the fridge freezer even after having a thermo-fuse burnout a couple of years ago going over one of the WestCoast passes three years ago. Ran the gas the entire trip, zero issues, go figure.
2. I posted early this summer explaining an issue with massive amounts of heat collecting under the corner counter of the galley and rolling out of the vent next to the sink and overwhelming the thermostat sensor causing the AC to run nearly continuously. Received many good ideas to pursue. However they were all off the mark. Using a FLIR and Laser IR thermometer located the culprit. This might be difficult to believe, but it is the exterior graphics causing the problem. The Black swaths on an 80f day directly in sunlight range from 108f - 113f while the white sections are 20f - 30f less. Although advised not to do this, I'm going to install a marine deck plate in the sidewall in way of this area and recess a PVC fitting to accept a gooseneck fitting that will be removable, with the inside portion attached to a computer rack fan and exhaust this unwanted heat. This will obviously be closed during travel, and an insulation blanket will be attached over the internal assembly during the winter.
3. Established an account with Open Roads and the savings on diesel in the Northeast was phenomenal.
4. Why is it that State Names that start with vowels in the Midwest have some of the most horrible torn up highways?
