all this info on turning off the fan when flushing is not really necessary. I use a product you can buy on line. it is called Happy Camper. I have used about every thing on the shelves for the toilet and this Happy Camper stuff works as advertised. I wasted a lot of money on chemicals and am glad I found the one thing that works. just put in a small measuring cup of the product , some water and walk away. it does it's job and does it well.
