Question 2nd Try...Hooking up Satellite TV - with pictures

So I tried what some members wrote, tried what Keystone sent to me, and tried what the dealer told me to do....still no luck.

I want to hook up my King Directv satellite.

I have two ports outside - I'm assuming they're meant for how they're labeled - top is for cable, bottom is for satellite.

On the backside of these ports, there are two cables - one orange, and one beige.

In the bedroom, I have only one booster with a jack. That's it. Not another plate with another coax jack on it. Although you can't see it, there are three cables on the back of the booster - orange, black and white.

In the living room, behind the TV, I have one plate with two coax jacks on it. That's it.

Can anyone tell me what the heck I'm doing wrong?

I DO NOT have a plate with two coax jacks on it with a jumper cable. It seems that most of the illustrations show this. Too bad for me

Any help will be SO greatly appreciated!!

I would try hooking the satellite in the top coax with the beige wire, then hook the receiver to the bottom living room coax with beige cable. Then you would hook receiver to tv

The TOP connction at the outside is the Satellite "IN" you have to have RG6 cable from the portable dish "PRIMARY" out to the Sat in. The coax is beige.

At the TV: you need another coax of RG6 hooked to the beige outlet and to the receiver "SATELLITE IN". Then you run any coax from the receiver "OUT TO TV" to the TV. You will have to set the TV to receive "CABLE/SAT" and do a channel scan with the receiver turned on.

Your TV will find either channel 3 or 4 depending on the setting on the back of the receiver. Once the receiver is found, stop the channel scan and go to that channel.

Your receiver might say "searching for satellite signal" if it does, then let it go until it faults out. Then follow the directions that came with the dish.

You will probably have to go to setup, satellite, repeat setup:
Be sure to choose, MULTI SWITCH not SWM, and option 2 (3 LNB) in the box above. After sc olongapo over to continue, it should verify set up. If the settings are right it will give you more prompts.

Are you sure the dip switches in the dish are set to Direct Tv?

2nd Try...Hooking up Satellite TV - with pictures

Like Chuckster said, I think the beige cable is the Sat cable. The big box stores sell a coax tracer if you want to double check.

It helps to bypass the trailer wiring by running the Sat coax through a window for the first time. Get your dish, receiver, and TV working first. When you know that works, then try using the trailer wiring.

Well guys - I tried your ideas, and had thought I had it made, but didn't. After spending hours on trying every fricking which way, I did just as MarkS said, and ran the coax through a window.

Sure as ****, the dish worked great! So there is obviously something askew with the wiring in the trailer.

I was thinking about putting a jack on the outside, directly behind the coax jack plate, and running a short little coax to that, but I need to find a coax jack with a cover. I'm thinking the rv store.

Thank you, though.....I really had hope!!

I bet there is a "whisker" grounding out the sat coax. Simple test:

Take an Ohm meter and simply touch one probe to the center (signal) wire and the other to the threads of the coax connector. If there is ANY continuity, then you just need to change the ends. Not uncommon, tool and ends are readily available at most any store.

Before adding a new jack, look close at the beige connections. Could be a whisker. The center wire could be cut short. You can usually see a bad termination.

Also, try using a wrench to snug the connectors. Just a touch.

I had similar problems on my 2017 Laredo. My solution was to run a single direct coax from the tailgater thru the outside kitchen and direct to the back side of the Dish "black box" for the living area TV.

I found that I could hook up and receive park cable TV from either outside jack (labeled "cable" and "satellite" in the docking station - identical to your pic)...therefore the connection seems have continuity - but apparently the signal from tailgater does not have enough low voltage "umphf" to get thru the internally wired coax+splitters to provide signal to the black box. Single direct coax from point A (tailgater) to point B (Dish black box) solved the problem.
