Dunno, maybe I'm in the minority but the trailer we bought the beginning of last year (our first new trailer because usually buy used) has no problems that I've found.
When we looked at it before buying it on the dealer's lot, my wife and I noticed an few cosmetic problems but didn't say anything. We figured we'd bring them up during the PDI.
Anyway, when we went through the PDI, the issues that we saw earlier were fixed. The dealer did their prep work after we bought the trailer and before our PDI.
I guess the dealer we used, and would recommend to others, did their homework and now have a couple of happy buyers that will return when we want to buy another trailer.

Thats good news, glad all is good. As I have said, no issues with the dealer or the trailer for us.

Yes, I think the dealer you choose has a lot to do with it. We've had the same great experience with the last two trailers we have purchased. Had Issues with each one, bought from differant dealers and all they were taken care of asap, with some things fixed before we even noticed them. Research your dealer before you buy.

I can't say if we have been "fortunate", "lucky" or if it's the "typical Keystone experience" but we've had no problems with our Cougar nor did we have any issues with our Springdale that I could "blame on Keystone".
On the Springdale, we had a refrigerator malfunction and the cooling unit was replaced by Camping World in Houghton Lake, MI. Total time the RV was "out of service at the dealership: 3 days.
On the Cougar, our remote control unit "died". We were on our way home from a camping trip, I called the dealership (Brewbaker's RV) and they asked if I could stop by on my way home, since the dealership was on the way home. They found a "blown relay" on the board and ordered a replacement RC unit. Total time about 45 minutes at the dealership. I did pull the Cougar back to the dealership when the parts came in and they were installed in about an hour. So total time at the dealership for repairs on the Cougar, about 2 hours.
I wouldn't say that either of these problems is a "Keystone issue" and I have been very satisfied with dealer response to repair both of my Keystone trailers.
There have been loose screws, blown fuses, and other minor problems, but by and large, both my "entry level" Springdale and my "mid level" Cougar have been problem free. I'm satisfied and would say that if I were shopping for a new RV, it would be a Keystone and I'd buy from either of these dealerships if the price were right.

We also have a 19FBPR, and this trailer has been absolutely perfect. We can't say enough good things about it! Bought it from a dealer in Michigan and now deal with a Camping World, so for us the dealer has nothing to do with it. We just feel that this little camper is a real winner.

We are first time buyers as of 5 months ago and now believe the DEALER is EVERYTHING. We are having a horrible experience and my dealer doesn't seem to care. I have just written a nice letter, 8 pages, to Keystone so we'll see if that gets any attention. The thing is falling apart right in front of us. 5 trips so far with at least 2 items going wrong every time. When I say trips all but 1, RMNP, have been local and less than 100 miles away. It's it the shop now with a 9 item list. Landing gear quit working, latches not holding, locks not working, eyebrow led's peeling off and burning out, bathroom door rollers broke. The list goes on. Being newbies I had no clue what a PDI was. Thanks to this forum I now do but unfortunately too late. The day I picked it up new it was about a 15 minute walk thru, hook it up and we're gone. They just pointed and said this button does this and that button does that. No REAL instruction. I've learned more on this forum and youtube than anywhere. A big thanks to you who post here! I'm learnin!!!

We bought our first RV from a large dealer east of Houston, had a 1.5 hour walk-through and found a couple minor issues which were taken care of while we signed the final papers. We have not had any difficulties with our 248RKS in the ensuing 18 months and would be fine purchasing another from this dealer.

As a tech that does both PDI's and walkthroughs, I can tell you I like it when a buyer points out things prior to the walk. Since I am human, and only have two eyes, the more the better IMO.
As far as the walkthroughs, I am "given" 2.5 hrs and depending on the customers previous RV'ing experience, have always made sure the customer is comfortable before they leave. Had one customer that traded a fiver for a new fiver..said "I don't need a walkthrough". When he came to pick it up, I asked him if he was sure, and he said well maybe. I spent about 45 minutes explaining the features and buttons for slides/landing gear etc. and he said wow, glad you took the time anyway.
We had a couple buy a 40' Phaeton motor home, NO and I mean ZERO RV'ing experience. That walkthroughs was 4.5 hrs and they were on sensory overload. I try to cater my walks to the customer. Not all dealers even do walks, my first three were: here's the keys, see ya.
Dealer choice is as big a decision as the unit you choose.

I bought one new and learned that a 'up to' 2 year old rig was better with the 'no fix-in things after a careful PDI.
