Unhappy slideout roof material

Greetings

Looking for help regarding the roof on my slideout, I'd like to know if it also has a rubber roof, or if its aluminium or fibreglass. Its a 2014 Keystone Hideout....with a leaky slide... putting a plan together to re-caulk and tape the seams. Thanks for your help. Cheers

Are you sure it's the roof? ... Does it leak only when it's out? (extended) .... Do the seals look even open and closed? ... Do you see it leaking from the ceiling or down a wall or just the floor gets wet??? Most slides have EPDM rubber roofs but some new models have a different material. With the slide half way open you should be able to see the roof from inside the trailer. (might need a step stool) Let us have a little more info maybe someone can help you. JM2¢, Hank ........... Welcome to the forum. ... if still under warranty let a dealer do it so it is not voided by what you do. If it is EPDM the material is warranted for 10 to 12 years.

leaky slide

Thanks for the welcome Hank, and your response, rain is getting in between the carpet and the plastic sheeting covering the slide floor when the slide is open. My first suspect is the outside bottom seam below the rain deflectors along each side of the slide, I think water might be running down the sides and finding a way in. I also noticed a crease in the upper wiper seal from it not flipping outwards end to end as the slide opened, don't think that would be the cause but needs massaging just the same. Lastly theres a small section of tape that covers the caulking and seam along the leading edge of the slide roof that has developed a bubble, seems like a minor eternabond repair. Trailer is still under warrenty but I havn't heard to many success stories from folks who have trusted the dealer with the repair. Figure I'll take a stab at it. Cheers
