What type of advice do you need?

It's 30 amp 120 volt
2 wire - hot/neutral
+ ground

Depending on distance, 10g (12 for ground) is generally sufficient.

You can get the outlet at Home Depot/ lowes.... It's labeled "TT-30"

You may also get some ideas in this thread. It discusses installing a 50 amp service, but other than wiring size, essentially all the same basic concepts are the same.

I would caution against saying the above...

Keep in mind that when discussing RVs, "30 Amp" is 30 amp 120 volt.... And "50 Amp" is 50 amp 125/250.

I say this because if someone installing is not "RV aware", $$$ mistakes canbe made. Even by qualified electricians.

Just sayin'

SAD, You are correct, wiring a 30 AMP RV outlet with 220 rather than 110 VAC would damage the RV electrical system. However, the basic concepts of how to calculate wire gage, run wire, bury it underground, use conduit, grounding and safe use of the 50 amp and the 30 amp power run are essentially the same. I'd hope that anyone who would attempt to install an RV outlet would have sufficient electrical experience and be keenly aware of the differences in 110 and 220 wiring. I'd suggest that anyone who doesn't know "exactly" what your comments and my response to them means in great detail, probably should not attempt to install an RV outlet without first getting expert help to guide them through the process.

Thank you

Thank you all so much. I had gotten bad info about the wire. Someone told me to get 10-3 wire and that was not right. I questioned that and sure enough they were wrong. Now I won't burn up everything in my new Premier that I have ordered. I will use the 10-2 wire as I only have to run 25 feet. Thanks again, John

I like this one with a breaker as part of the unit.

thanks

Thanks cabinfever, I just got the box that has the plug in it. My breaker is going to be in the main barn breaker box. I like that unit also. Thanks John
