Holes in my fresh water tank
While sanitizing my fresh water tank I noticed water dripping out along the side of the low point drain. That's not good I thought and began to investigate. I opened up the underbelly and got drenched with all the water trapped above the chloroplast. Instead of finding a crack, I found 4 very nice round holes, added by yours truly when I installed my BAL hide-a-spare...<groan>.... Grabbed a milk jug, soldering iron, heat gun and metal putty knife, and did some plastic welding to fix my mistake. Refilled with water to test, pushing on the tank to make sure the welds hold. It was the late evening at this point, so left the water in over night and checked in the morning. All was good. Buttoned up the bottom of the trailer and resanitized the tank. Next morning I had water again..<groan>... Think my welds did not hold, I opened her up again , only to discover a new hole I added when I screwed the chloroplast back up.... Kick self in.... Well you get the picture. And plastic weld and all is good, out camping this weekend and all the welds are holding just fine.
So the moral of the story, know where your tanks are before making any modifications, I thought I knew but was off about 6 inches. So don't guess remove a few screws and take a look so you really know.
