Colorado Weather

Just a heads up - Colorado Camping is really iffy right now and for the near future (including this weekend). We've gotten a lot of rain (more than any other May we natives can remember. Just saw the report and most State and National comping grounds have cancelled several reservations. Flooding in some areas, mud, and dangerous roads. We still have snow in the high country. Sounds like more weather on the way. Planning on coming to Colorado - call first. We normally don't get wet weather like this - we brag about 300 days of sunshine, but this year???

Great tip! I just called Cherry Creek to make sure it is open and it is, thankfully. We didn't go to St. Vrain a few weeks back; it was the weekend that it was evacuated.

I told someone else today that it feels like Seattle without the benefit of the ocean.

Sorry to say but it has been raining here for at least a week now...5/21/15 and moving that way.

Weatherman just said our storm is heading north. Good luck

Southwest Wyoming is drowning - very unusual for us. We live in the high desert, and it's been raining every day for several weeks now. Once it stops and gets warm, we may be the new garden spot of America.

We just got back from camping in the Collegiate Peaks campground, west of Buena Vista, just below the Cottonwood pass (9734 feet elevation).

We went to Monument first, on the 21st and "camped" in my Brother In-law's yard and then out to the campground on the 25th.

It rained on us quite a bit, was colder than a well digger's butt, there was still a little snow on the ground and it was great camping

Glad there is a furnace in the 22RBPR and that I brought a 3rd propane tank along, since we emptied the 2 on the tongue.

The campground was nice, big lots with nice spacing from each other... standard NFS fair, pit toilets, pump water (that was rusty and full of sediment) and very nice camp hosts.

With our Golden Eagle pass it was $10/night for the camping.
