Happy veteran's day
To all of the men and women that I had the honor and privilege to serve with and stand beside, THANK YOU. Your service is what has kept this nation safe and free since its inception as the dream of our forefathers. Without you, we could never enjoy the privilege of living in a free society with all the precious liberties we have.
To those who served before me or followed after me, those brothers and sisters that I never had the privilege to meet, thank you for leading the way as well as carrying the burden after me.
Have a safe and peaceful Veterans Day.

Remembrance and Veteran's Day --
Today in Canada we give pause on Remembrance Day to recognize the many sacrifices by those men and women who have served and are serving our country. We also salute and remember our American friends and neighbours who gave their lives to defend their country.
To all our men and women, I say "Thank you". Lost but not forgotten.

Howdy All;
As a Veteran I appreciate the Thank Yous but wonder about the use of the
word 'Happy' in connection with this day that we of various countries use to
remember the end of WW I, as the origin. Since then it has been expanded
to symbolize the end of each successive conflict that our nations have been
involved in.
I remember that of a graduating class of almost 1,000 students (large
school district), that held our Graduation ceremony on 4th June 1969
almost 1/8 either came back in pieces or not among the living by the time
that 2 years had gone by.
I give thanks each day for the volunteers that are serving today and for
everyone of them, regardless of the job they have wither it be a Bomb Tech.
or someone doing a temporary assignment to the laundry. They all signed
on the Bottom line, and for that I say my thank yous every day, not just
on Nov. 11th each year.
So, for those that served or are still serving, THANK YOU!

Well some in my family say I am a draft dodger.....and they are right! I joined the Navy in 1967 to avoid being drafted. Served 4 years. Made two 8 1/2 month deployments to the Gulf of Tonkin (and several shorter 'pleasure cruises'. Thanks to all who have served.
