Has anyone added doors/drawers under their kitchen table?
I have a 2010 31BHPR. Being able to use the storage and the U-shaped dinette is a pain having to rip the cushions off and the wood to access underneath. Has anyone added doors or drawers to their Premier to make access to this storage easier? If you have, where did you purchase the doors/drawer to do this modification?

It seems to me that it's easier to lift and lower items then it would be to be on your hands and knees cramming things in to small storage spaces while holding a flashlight in between your teeth. Also you can utilize more of your storage from above.
Keep in mind that the jack studs are there for support so there's no moving them!
BTW welcome!

Drawers
I agree tearing apart the cushions was the worst. I added drawers as wide and as long as I could get to fit, added long slides( 24 inches min). Check out my post "lots of mods". It was well worth it, my DW loves them. I made my own boxes and drawer fronts, stained drawer fronts dark brown color to match dark vinyl trim color (trying to match orangey/ brown color of existing cabinets was difficult).

Drawers in the benches were a big selling point for our 2013 31bhpr. The drawers are easy to use as the pull out into the middle of the room. The factory installed drawers cover about 2/3 of the area so it leaves a little space to put those rarely used items. I know some have done it so if do a search you might find more info.

You can order doors to match but I think you are going to have to make the drawers themselves or find a carpenter that can do it. I'm not familiar with your trailer but mine has a rear door with the dinette just to the right of the door with a rear kitchen. I just made two doors in the area just inside the door so didn't need a drawer. I do plan to make a drawer for the other seat.

If you literally mean under the table, I have done so. I added a small drawer to the underside of the table to hold misc. pencils, cards or other small items. Took care to make sure it did not interfere with dropping table to make bed or would not hit it with knees when using table. It was 8" by 12" made of oak in my shop. Since it was not very deep, had to made own guides and used magnet to help hold drawer shut when in travel mode. Also had screw stop in place to keep it from coming all the way out.

You can find details and pictures on how I did this in thread linked below. I used door panels that I got from Keystone to match my TT, drawer boxes that I bought pre-made and drawer guides that I made myself to create full size drawers under both dinette seats.

Thanks for the compliment . All credit really goes to my late father who was an amazing craftsman and who passed on a small fraction of his abilities to me so I could do stuff like this.

While we're on this subject, our warranty won't run out until October. Do you think doing this mod now might void it? We were just discussing this last night and really don't want to wait to add the drawers, but we hesitate.

I rolled the dice and made the mod while under warrantee. My thinking (hope)was that Keystone and my local dealer would be reasonable and not say that a warrantee problem with my roof, for example, was associated with this mod. I figured the worst case was that I voided warrantee associated with my slide unit. FWIW, We had some minor recall work (front cap attachment issue) done after I made the mod with no issues.

MIsailor,
Great idea and job well done. The other gentleman that visited you did a great job too. Now I am inspired. I had been concerned with using that area for much of anything due to the added weight of contents when the slide is in the extended position. I guess if it can handle a group sitting at the settee it can handle the two of us and more cargo.
We have doors on the front of ours so that part is handled. I don't think they will afford me the size of drawers the void space can handle but the usefulness should offset that loss especially as we hardly use it now.

I would like to do this as well, but my wife is already stressing about hanging 3M Command strips. If I head out with a dremel and a straightedge, she might not let me back in the house!

Well, BirchBoy, as long as you've got the trailer, at least you won't be sleeping out in the cold if she stresses too much LOL Just think if you were cutting apart your new motorbike.... Now, with that, if she threw you out, you'd be cold the first night

This is not of a premier and I did not do this mod, but it's certainly an easy way to get better access to the area without much cost.
