wet suspension choices

I am in the market to upgrade my plastic bushing equa torque suspension for a wet kit. I have looked at the dexter basic set vs the e z flex and the lippert wet version ie equa torque. I know the e z and the equa's have a better ride but I worry about the rubber failure. how many miles will they last? my rig rolls several thousand a year. the k71-360-00 will work for years and miles but the ez and equa will be softer on my TH. input please

Our old TT was still going good after over 10k miles, but it was only 10k gvw. We had no idea how many miles our new/old Monty had, but suspected it wasn't much. Since it's over 15k gvw I thought it would be a good idea to put a wet bolt kit on it. Picked up a Mor/Ryde kit on Amazon and installed myself last fall (put a thread on the Montana Owner's Club maintenance forum). The old bushings weren't all that bad, but probably wouldn't have lasted another full year.

I installed mine three years ago and have about 8,000 mi. on them. The rubber didn't appear to show any deterioration when I greased the wet-bolts last month. Even if they only lasted four or five years I would still install them on any trailer I owned. They make a big difference in the road shock transfered to the trailer.

also

the 3-6000 equaflex is so easy to wet bolt. the guy at lippert tried to sway me but since I had em off I tried it. take the old out and add the new one. then I had to order the 4 wet bolts he talked me out of, grrr. the shackles are a little longer. the person I talked to didn't have a clue. I will call tomorrow to seek someone competent.

i swear

I hope all I ordered comes in and I swear I will never use lippert unless I just have to. tech support never called me back. finally I called back and talked to parts. I told her just send me the correct 2.25 inch shackles and I would send the 3.13s back. she said she will send me the 12 I need. its bad to need a drink after dealing with lippert.

I can understand your frustration. When I dealt with Lippert last spring, I had an entirely different experience. I spoke with a lady named Emily who seemed to be very knowledgeable and was very helpful. She helped me determine which axles I had and, after verifying what the dimensions were on the springs and shackles, my wet bolt kit and a new (replaced under warranty) set of Equaflex were on the way. At the time of my order, Lippert was in the process of changing its retail parts center to another name (which I can't remember). Perhaps their customer interaction is not what it was before the change. FWIW

idk

they try to sell their stuff through the name mobile outfitters. I looked and they have the equa flex but they didn't show wet kits. now at lippert you have to go through the choices then when you get to the suspensions and accessories you go to an operator they can put you with tech or parts. the funny thing parts cant access your vin number that is tech. they looked and scratched their head and said we will call you back. I finally called back and got parts. I told her the dimensions of the shackles I needed and they are suppose to be on their way. idk. HERES the kicker if you go on the internet and look for a kit to fit your rv. it may or may not be listed they only show the "popular "ones. this was my case they only show one for a 3 axle equaflex system. if you have the 3-6000 equa flex it is the WRONG kit. I hope when I get the shackles in they are right. and when this system wears out I am going with dexter or mor ryde.

Wet Set

Last year I replaced all of my shackles and bushings on our 5er, the ones I had on there have been replaced 2 times, went on line and went to Mor-Ride and bought there set of shackles and bushings, the shackles are 1/2 inch thick and are steal , didn't cost any more than the other ones I looked at but the tec that put them on said they were some of the best he had seen , good luck and happy camping.
