Porch light type / socket size for male pig tail

Hello,

I have 31bhpr. I am hoping someone can tell me the porch light socket size (hopefully it's a standard size). My trailer is in storage a few hours away. What kind of bulb (1156, or 1141, or ???)

The reason I ask is because I am buying the parts for my led strip which I will power using the exterior porch light.

1) remove the bulb
2) connect mail pig tail (see example link below) into the light socket

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/WIRE-HALOGEN-...VV9f0x&vxp=mtr

3) connect male pig tale to 12v DC barrel adapter (see example link below)

http://www.banggood.com/Male-Female-...-p-952843.html

4) connect 12v DC barrel adapter to the LED controller.

Thank you.

1141 and1156 are the same base, only difference is watts (brightness) as I recall.

Thanks for the response.

Those were just examples I gave, are you able to confirm that the porch light size fits 1141/1156 bulbs?

Once I confirm the base size I can order the correct pigtale male connector to 2 wire.

Also do you know if I need to add a fuse when between the pigtale connector and DC barrel connector?

Thanks again.

If your porch light is the bayonet style, then I'm 99% sure it's the 1141/1156. That is the most common I have seen in just about every porch light in numerous brands. As far as adding a fuse, it can't hurt. Needed? Don't know.

1141: 18watt 12.8V
1156: 27.3 watt 13V

Thank you chuckster57

Unfortunately I don't have access to my camper to confirm if the porch light is the bayonet style (snowed in at storage facility a few hours away) I'm just trying to have things ready for when I dewinterize and can install this.

I'll go ahead and order the pigtale that fits the 1141 base size. If I'm wrong it's only a few dollars lost.

If anyone has a bullet premier and can check if it's the bayonet style can you please let me know.

Thank you.

AlbertaRvMan, Howdy;

Allow me to throw me stuff on the fire, My RV is a 2008, the porch light is
ready for this ... a 1003. base looks very similar to the above mentioned
bulbs. They are listed as 12.8v, 12w.

Hope this helps.

Keystone (along with every other RV manufacturer) has this disclaimer on their website and in every brochure they print: " Features, floor plans, and specifications are subject to change without notice."

Keystone will not "shut down" the production line because a component is not available. They will go to another brand's parts warehouse and "get a crate of XXX" to install on trailers as they continue down the assembly line. Once the new inventory of that part arrives, they will "pay back" what they borrowed. That puts a "odd part" in another warehouse inventory. Eventually, either that "odd part" will be installed or become "year end excess" and be sold to a salvage company and offered for sale to the public.

Relying on the information about "another similar trailer" may be accurate, or it may be completely wrong. The only "real way to know" is to visually verify what is installed. That's one of the main reasons that any dealer will want to "see your trailer" before they order parts either for "in shop repair" or for "warranty work".....

FWIW a 1003 has the same base as the above mentioned.

Howdy All;

I'll also add that my trailer (mentioned above), is a "West Coast" trailer
not an Indiana trailer.

If it were me I would just buy the 1156 and wait for the thaw. I would bet chances are 99% that you will have the right part.......I hope But, as you said, it's only a few bucks.
