solar/generator

I was wondering if you can keep a solar panel hooked to your battery while the generator is running. I have a 15 watt panel that I hook to the battery just to trickle charge it while boon docking. I've always unhooked it before starting the generator. Was wondering if thats necessary.

When we install solar, we wire to a controller and then to the battery(s). Nothing in any paperwork says you can't be connected while plugged in or gen running. I don't know of a reason why you couldn't leave it.

I keep our 18W panel connected while on shore power, no different than generator, no problem. The charge controller and onboard converter regulate just fine.
