Slide out after rain

we have been camping in the rain for 2 days now. If we have to bring the room in without the roof drying out- should we slide it out once we get home to dry out?

Yes, Yes and Yes. I do that even here at home. If it rains here at the house I'll open the camper and the awning both.

If we have to retract the slides while they are wet (because of heavy dew - everyone knows it never rains in California) We bring the left slide in first and then wipe the roof off from inside the 5er. Then we bring in the right slide. We carefully wipe that roof off using a towel wrapped around a broom so we can reach it from the kitchen area without having to risk stepping on the retracted slide floor. When we get home, we extend everything and let it dry out

If worried I make sure TT is tilted so rain runs off before bringing rear slide in. Other than that, don't do anything different ran or shine. Do not dry out again at home.

So your roof stays dry with toppers. I think they are designed to keep the debris off the roof, not rain.
I use the pull them in and dry them off as you go method myself.
