Spring Bar Storage Solution

Below is a picture (click to enlarge) of the spring bar storage channels that I added in the pass-thru of our new Premier 19FBPR. They are constructed of 3x4 vinyl downspouts material hung under the bed frame using the corresponding downspout brackets -- all obtained from Lowes. I've since added a 3rd channel to store my friction sway controller. The spring bars are trunion-style bars that would not fit in 4" PVC tubing, and 6" PVC pipe took up too much room. The trunion ends of the bars just barely fit in the downspout channels on the diagonal so I can slide the greesy end in first.

Agreed! Will have to evaluate for our Reese dual cam away controllers (not sure how they come apart yet) as well.
Another Lowe's trip haha sounds like more TOOLS!

That downspout material and corresponding hanger brackets are both also available in a 4"x5" size. It's used for large buildings so you may or may not find it at Lowe's, Home Depot, etc. If you can locate a nearby building supply company or lumber yard, they should have it stock.

I cannot fit both bars into a single tube because the trunion ends are too big. They actually fit snuggly diagonally across the tube.

Those downspouts look like an ideal way to hang fishing rods inside the storage compartment

I've been wondering about storing the WD hitch when camping. I'm glad I came across this post. Thanks for sharing! I do believe, though, that I'll store the hitch at home when the camper is stored.

I like the gutter set up as well. Here's what I have going on. It's 4"pvc that the trunion's slide right in and the ends just hang out a bit. But the part I like is not having to dig around in the compartment to get at them when I need them or to put them away. The other pic is one longer 4"pvc hanging. The really short kids poles are in this end, and my two poles slide in the other end. Been great so far.

Would one section of tube work if the bars were put in on opposite sides?
The tube appears to go fully across the storage bay.

Looks like you might be asking the OP, but just FYI, in my case with the 4" PVC, I dont' even remember, but, I am quite sure they would fit in one tube if on opposite sites. I think I just preferred them in one side so I only had to access one door to get at them. Then on the other side I have other things stored inside like more stakes, lenghts of random wood and conduit, and american flags.

The tubes don't quite go all the way across but they could. I suspect that you could fit both bars in one section tubing if you put one in from each side but they would have to go in with the trunion end (i.e., greasy end) out. That means you would have to handle the greasy end and one of the points of doing this from my perspective was to get the greasy end away from everything else. So I put the trunion end in first and that warrants 2 separate tubes.
