Need help on idea for curtain/shade on the door

Our second door enters the bathroom which I absolutely love. I realized people outside can see in fairly well. I want to figure out a way to put a shade or curtain up and it still look good. It's a normal door with a screen door as well. Any ideas how to fix this without damaging anything and still keep it looking nice? I thought maybe put something between but how and what?

Contact paper makes several adhesive paper types that obscure the view but don't stop the light transmission. Or, if you're looking for a more removeable solution, velcro dots on the door around the window and on your choice of fabric.

Replace the screen material with solar screen material, would almost completely block view during day... night is a different story.

Maybe, check local autoparts stores for window tint material.

Somewhere on the forum, I think there's another thread about door/window coverings & such.
If I can find it, I'll add the link. In the meantime, here's some ideas...

http://www.wallpaperforwindows.com/p...w-Film-c36.htm

Target also sells similar 'window film'...

Hope this helps, and welcome to the forum 'Happy Campers' family!

We did a temporary fix this wrekend of a favorite kitchen towel and masking tape lol! The idea of using sticky dots is great. I might try the velcrow dots so i can remove and wash as necessary. Now on to finding the perfect strap for the outside refridgerator. We had a nice surprice once we got home and went to open it to unload. It is a normal dorm sized so there isn't a locking mechanism. The things you don't think about!

At a camper store I got a "recliner/rocking chair tie down strap". It is a flat black nylon strap that adjust. Has plastic male n female snap together coupler. Also has chrome buckles on each end for attaching with a screw.

Our camper has several of these. One for each wall mounted TV and one on the outside fridge. Cost was around $10

We bought a small roll of Reflectix insulation at Home Depot for around $15. and cut out pieces to fit under all the blinds of all our camper's windows & ceiling vents to block out unwanted light and prevent silhouettes that can be seen through the blinds at night from outside. For the window on the door, we stuck black oval shaped tabs of velcro around the black frame around the glass and of course, the other side of the velcro to the window cover we made with the Reflectix. It does a great job providing privacy. Found this idea by googling like mad since we bought our travel trailer and found a wealth of info by doing so. Joined this forum yesterday since a lot of the questions I googled led me to this website. Hope this helps. Happy camping!!

Wink

I took my unit to a (Reputable) Tinting company that uses only the best (Warrantied) Tint and had all of my windows done in very Dark Limo Tint. I can see out of the windows clearly but outsiders cannot see in (Even at Night) It also prevents my shades from being ruined by the sun and keeps the unit an extra 10-15 degrees cooler during the summer.

magnetic curtain rod

The door is metal, right? (sorry I'm a trailer newbie, anxiously waiting for my trailer to be delivered). Well, I assume it's a metal door and there are magnetic curtain rods available that would allow you to hang something without having to use glue or anything at all to mar the surface of the door. Just make sure that you get a good one that has nice strong magnets. (or alternatively use a series of magnetic hooks and clip curtain rings on whatever material you select for a curtain and hang on the hooks. (might give you more magnet strength that way) Of course, ignore all the above if the door's not metal!

parkgirl, Howdy;

Welcome to the forum !!!

Generaly, the door frames and most all of the metal (excluding the frame), is likely to be aluminum (not magnetic). Thanks for joining in the conversation,
