Which battery?

So, my battery needs replacing in my Bullet 272bhs. I am somewhat confused at what battery to purchase. I cannot find any info on the battery that was in it online.

I typically am plugged into the campground or a generator. I think my class is 27 based on my measurements of 6.5" x 10" x 8" high.

What should I look for in a battery to use in this way? Obviously I don't need cranking amps, I imagine I don't need much of anything since I always have power to it. Right?

Any help would be appreciated, this is confusing for me so far!

Thanks!

You want a 12 volt marine/deep cycle battery, or two 6 volt golf cart batteries. Beyond that, get the best battery you can afford. The more amp hours you have the better. One of the benchmarks to look at is how many cycles it is rated for at 50% discharge. Discharging even a marine/deep cycle or golf cart batteries below 50% greatly shortens the life of the battery. It shouldn't be a problem if you are always plugged into shore power, but when you are relying on a generator you need to be aware of it assuming you aren't running the generator 24/7. It's easy to discharge a group 27 battery below 50% over night if you are running your furnace.

Based on your post it sounds like it is probably a group 24;

I am similar to you in that I don't use my RV boondocking except on rare occasions and for a very short time in good weather. I use 2 group 24 Interstate marine/deep cycles and they work fine (except when the dealership killed them ). 6 volt or even grp 27 batteries will not fit into my battery tray and trying to rebuild it where it is located would prove difficult - and gain nothing for me in the way that I use them. I would however upgrade to 2 batteries instead of one if I were you in the off chance you ever actually needed "battery" power. One 24 won't get you far.

If you always camp with electric buy the cheapest RV/marine battery that fits in your battery box. Walmart stores are everywhere and they have a liberal battery return policy if a problem arises.

Many of us have two, four, or even more batteries but it is a waste of money if you don't dry camp. If you have been happy with the dealer installed cheapo battery, buy another cheapo battery, but not at an RV dealer.
