New Bathroom Light

My DW was cleaning the bathroom and said that there was not enough light from the standard light over the sink. She wished there was another light over the toilet area. A quick search on Amazon located an LED light for less than $15. Once it got here it was easier than I feared to install it.

I removed the light over the sink to check the wiring and access between the roof and ceiling. I removed the fan cover and was able to use a straightened out wire hanger as a fish tape.

I selected the position for the light and used a ½ in drill bit (the largest I had with me) to make 2 holes and a utility knife to connect the holes. I could poke the wires through by hand.

I used “T-Tap” wire connectors at the source and butt splice connectors at the new light.

Presto Chango an additional light controlled by the switch.

The light I chose to install has the 3 way switch (off, one light, both lights) and was wired without polarity so I just had to hook up the wires and now worry about positive and negative wires.

I just ordered a similar Kohree LED light from Amazon, not 15 minutes ago....in fact, it was the 2 pack of them and they are rated at 550 lumens when both lights are on. One of the two will go in the baggage compartment of my T.H. and the other is going in the bathroom to replace the puck light over the vanity. The baggage compartment light will be wired up so that I have a 3 way switch setup. I'll be able to turn the light on from the baggage door access or from inside the bedroom where you raise the bed for access to the baggage compartment. Hopefully those lights will really brighten up the compartment and the bathroom.

I got one of mine installed in the bathroom this past weekend. I had one puck light in the bathroom and this light replaced it. It's probably almost twice as bright as the puck light and the install was very easy. The good news is that there is a lot more light in the bathroom. The bad news is that I don't need to be seen that well early in the morning.........BC........Before Coffee!
