Reverse lights added, marriage saved!

On our last trip the dw and I almost divorced trying to get backed up in the dark. So today I mounted two led lights on rear bumper. I tied into my 12 volt trailer wiring with a switch in case I need the lights without the tv hooked. Running the wires was a bit of a challenge but I am pleased with how it turned out. Purchased the lights from Walmart for $20. Small price to pay for marriage bliss.

Very good idea. Where did you run the wiring harness and where did you mount the switch? Thanks

I ran wire inside rear bumper, through the floor then behind corner trim up to cabinet. I mounted the switch on cabinet and tied into wiring from an existing light under the cabinet.

Interesting, so can you get to the switch with the slides in?
I also added backup lights to our 5er, but they are operated by the backup lights on the TV. I also have extra Backup lights on the TV, mounted low, to light under the 5er.
Both of the additional Backup light sets are operated through relays.

I did about the same. Welded a bar across the top of the bike rack mount. Mounted two 55w lights on it that rotate and can be turned up or down. Put a switch and fuse near the bumper and ran wires to one of the batteries. It took a few hours and around 40 bucks. Besides used for backing, anytime I want some light behind or beside the trailer they work great.

Very innovative! Beats trying to aim for a flashlight beam from 55' away. Gotta do this on my rig.
