Outside TV bracket

Hi everyone - we'd like to move the outside TV bracket a bit higher, as it hangs so low that we can barely use the power outlet when the TV is hanging on the bracket. We're a little apprehensive about drilling through the siding. Would anyone have any tips for us? Thank you!

When the TV bracket is mounted, lag screws are used and there is a wooden "backing plate" behind the exterior wall. Moving it would mean dealing with the old holes, and depending on how far you moved it, you might miss the backing plate. I think using an extension cord would be a better solution.
