propane tank cover eyelet repair

The front eyelet of our propane tank cover is ripped so I can't use that to secure the cover down. Has anyone found something like a "screw-together grommet" or locking washers that can be used to remedy this?
TIA.

Ripped mine too, didn't realize bungee was connected, dummy. Was thinking about just drilling another little hole in the cover near the ripped hole.

Maybe epoxy a set of washers on either side of both the ripped and unripped hole would be better though.

I would drill a hole in the cover and attach there. If that cracked thru and failed get a new cover.

Our stuff must be MUCH more $$ up here...hence the question.
I used a couple 2.5" mending plates (one on the outside, one on the inside) with 1/2" bolts through. I used an unused (bolt) hole to hold the bungee. Because the plates sandwich the platic cover, it will never tear.

Most hardware stores have a grommet making kit. I comes with grommet blanks, and a hand tool to crimp the halves together. Handy to have when you want to make a custom sized tarp too.

audio1der, Howdy;

A pair of wide flat washers some Gorilla Glue, stop drill any cracks radiating
from busted hole, C-clamp the washers with some waxed paper to act as a
"Parting " material ... wait for the glue to cure ....

However, when I owned a TT with the tanks on the tongue I just slid the
cover over the top and that was all that was needed, friction fit.
