Television Installation

Just bought a Passport Ultralite 2400bh. It has the center entertainment wall that seperates the bedroom from the kitchen dinette area. On one side is a Sansui 32 inch tv facing the dinette area with a swing arm. The back bedroom side, behind the sliding doors, has a recessed area that looks like you can mount another tv in. There are no bolt heads I can see for the tv mounted on the other side. I measured the depth and its like 3 inches. Has anyone mounted a tv on the bedroom side of this model. The dealership was helpful but being a wholesaler, was not completely knowledgeable of the product. Any help would be appreciated.

There are some comments about TV mounting in a thread on the 2810. It has the same setup. Key is to make sure it doesn't stick out too far and make sure there are solid points behind the new tv.

As a rule, there will be a decal on the wall where the backer plate is. A backer is a wide piece of thick lumber that is anchored to wall studs so it can support the weight of a TV and mount. The label may be missing, or the backer may not be there. How can you tell? Best way is to press on the wall panel, if the backer is there, it will be solid. Without a backer, I wouldn't mount a TV bracket, as the wall panels are thin and flimsy.

Its not mounted on the wall but in an entertainment console type thing devideing the bedroom from the rest of the camper. I think the mounting space will be the biggest issue. Thanks.

My 303rls has the area in the bedroom marked for the tv mount very well. When I drilled pilot holes I went into a metal stud ~~ just as good.

We have a 2014 bullet 251 which has a similar entertainment center and the bedroom side was not mark for a tv mount, I just pushed on the wood panel to feel where the studs where and was able to put a tv on it. I did have to drill a hole to run the power cord and cable up through the inside of the entertainment wall (so none of the cords are exposed) to the front side where the outlet and cable mount are. I used a non swinging/non adjustable mount since there is no need to move the tv around. Hope this helps😀

I didn't have any issues mounting the TV. I had more problems finding a 40" tv hat is only 2.5" thick to allow for mounting in the 3" space.

Will a 40 inch tv fit in that space? I thought it would be to wide.

Whitmw, do you mind if I ask what you what TV and mount you ended up mounting in there?
