bike rack

4 weeks tomorrow before we get the trailer out of it's winter home.
I was thinking of adding a rear bumper mounted bike rack to our 341TG.
If I recall, the bumper didn't seam that sturdy.
Last fall we loaded them in the storage area, but we would like a more permanent solution. Any suggestions?
Thanks
Greg

There is currently a thread called "Adding Bumper Cargo Mount to 238ML" which does make reference to adding a bike rack. You might want to check this thread out and I would also point you to our search feature. Bike racks have been extensively discussed here on the forum and there are scads of threads/posts about this topic.
By browsing through and reading what others have done, I am sure you will be able to get more than enough information to help you.
If, for some reason, you can't find what you are looking for in the threads found in your search, come back here.

(Just type in "bike racks" or "bicycle racks" in the search box).

I don't think anyone on here would suggest that you add a bike rack to the bumper alone....... you need to do some modifications. The threads that you find by your search are a good source --- some even have photos for you to look at)

I installed a front hitch on my truck and carry the wife's an my bike up front . . . takes a little while to get used to them being there and the wider turns, but in the long run I know they've not fallen off anywhere ;-)

I put one of these on our 360RB http://www.etrailer.com/RV-and-Motor...an/S80605.html
I carry an adult mountain bike and a kids bike on it. I have watched the welds real close and have not noticed any damage. I have about 3,000 miles on this configuration. Good luck.

Bike Rack

I'd love to add a bike rack to the rear bumper but I'm so close to dragging leaving my driveway now it just won't work. Like someone already replied, I went with a front receiver for my truck and got a bike rack that holds 4 bikes. You can arrange them so the driver has a clear view and I usually remove the seats.

Keystone has an option. I saw this one at a RV show last month.

This slide-out rack, while it looks like it should work as a bike rack, falls short IMO. I have one of these and have used it to carry 2 adult bikes but since have abandoned the rack and now put the bikes inside.
Some members have reported that the track on which the rack is supported, has bent and become unsafe.
While this has not happened to me, I found that tying down two bikes securely using the collapsible center post was both awkward and ineffective. You needed a lot of bungee cords and tie-downs to properly secure the bikes to the rack.
Secondly, the rack extends so far back that it dragged when going over depressions or changes from level to an incline and was also more prone to greater bouncing up and down because of the long overhang.
Lastly, because of the weight of the spare plus that of the two bikes, I moved the spare from the bumper and placed it in the back of the PU as a precaution. I just didn't trust the whole thing for all of the above reasons.
Sounds good. Looks good. But really not a "good" option IMO.
