Command hooks damaging wall covering
I have a 2014 Bullet 251rbs and the DW and I were working to get it organized. We put up some command hooks near the door for some light jackets and found that after several weeks the wall covering (wall paper?) was starting to pull away. Has anyone else had this happen? If so, is there any methods to repair the wall covering? Thanks.

We also had that problem. The stuff on the walls is very thin wallpaper and it just won't support much weight. Where we still wanted them I drilled a hole in the hook and put a small screw. That holds them just fine. The holes are very easy to fill with matching caulk and no one will ever notice them after you remove the hooks.
Where the wall paper seperated I just sort of rubbed it and moistened it and it shrunk back in place.

Had this issue with a Command hook in the bedroom. Didn't notice the problem until the hook broke and I pulled the tape to change it out. We have 4 of these hooks on the exterior wall in the hallway outside the bedroom. Keep our jackets and hats hung there and have not had any problems with those. Must be weight related?

Unfortunately the same thing can happen in a regular home. Fact is the adhesive is only sticking to the paper, not the wood behind it. As has been said in order to get a connection is to put some type of anchor in the wall. Then your strength is still only as strong as the 1/8" or 3/16"' luan that the wall is constructed with, unless you are lucky and hit a stud. I think if the manufacture had meant for hooks or hangers to be installed they might have done it, or maybe not.

Well, you cured me of wanting a hook on the bedroom wall. How about on the back of the mirror inside the "wardrobe" cupboard next to the bed? Or on the outside edge of the medicine cabinet? Anyone have problems with Command hooks there?

On my Sydney, I installed two prong coat hooks (6 of them) throughout my rig over a year ago. They are screwed into the luan wall boards, two screws per hook and have not pulled out. They have had a lot of use for towels and jackets. I feel these are much stronger that using a hook that adhere to the paper covering.

We have command hooks in our bedroom and bathroom. I haven't noticed them causing any damage. I will have to keep an eye on them when we head into our fall camping and will be using our coats more. I am wondering if it is weight related. The hooks in our bedroom are made to hold up to 5 Lb.

The hook in our bedroom was broken (damaged it working on the sliding door). I believe I pulled the vinyl loose (it didn't tear, it just separated a little) when I pulled the removal tab on the double sided tape. The hooks we have in the hall hold our heavy jackets without any problems so far. We also have Command hooks on the outside of the shower for towels.

Follow up. We got back to the TT today and we were quite pleased to see that the wall bubbles where the command hooks had been had shrunk and you could hardly see them. I suspect that the elevated temps while we were gone helped.

Good to hear. I've found that the paper does sort of flatten back out. As I mentioned earlier, you can always use the Command Hook and supplement it with a small screw. That's all it takes and you can fill the hole when you sell very easy with a little matching color putty (just like the manuf. uses to cover all those staples).

No problems with Command hooks
We installed Command hooks a couple of years ago in our Alpine. We have 4 by the door and 2 in the bedroom. All are used for sweaters, jackets, & ball caps. We had not had any issues. We have the brushed nickel decorator style & all are on exterior walls. We are very happy with them.
