Best vacuum?

Does anyone have an opinion about a good small size vacuum to keep in an RV?Along with the normal stuff that gets dragged in from outside we have two pugs who together shed enough in a week to make another dog.

We, or should I say my wife, uses a Eureka and "she" has been satisfied with it. She won't let me use it so I can't offer an opinion about how good or bad it is. There is also a Dirt Devil kicking around somewhere but we don't use that in the RV. My DW has that hidden away too so I can't use it either. Darn!

Dirt Devil

I installed a Dirt Devil Central Vac in my Outback 277RL TT.
Works like a charm (we have 2 Corgis) ... DW loves it.
Well worth it.

We previously had a Dirt Devil stick vac (it died after 5 yrs & 100,000 miles <LOL>), now have a Dyson Cordless (DC44, Animal) stick vac.
Bought one for the house, loved it, so we bought another for the RV! They're pricey, but worth every penny IMO, if you have animals --
we have a mini Aussie & ferrets that travel with us

Terri-
Ferrets? Aren't they related to those darn marmots that crawl into your engine compartment and eat the wiring and insulation?

<LOL> Festus! I still think those marmots are cute "little devils"! No doubt, if they chewed my truck insulation
& wiring, I'd probably think otherwise! <LOL>

Domestic ferrets are mammals from the Mustelid (not rodent) family... thought to be descendants of the European Pole Cat...
and distant cousins to black-footed ferrets, ermine, mink, skunks, etc.

PS, Ooops, I think we hi-jacked the "vacuum sweeper" discussion Sorry Povo!

My vote goes for the dirt devil central vac also. Lots of power and really does a great job. Bags are pricey for what they are though. If it wasn't for that we'd use our shark vac. We like it for the house.

We have the DD central vac and a rechargeable cordless shark. I like the shark, it's too easy to just grab and vacuum. The DD works well, but then I have to drag the hose and attachments out and go into the basement storage to empty the bag. Call me lazy, but I'd rather just grab the shark off the charging base we keep in the closet, vacuum, dump the dirt from the canister into the garbage and put the vacuum back on the charging base.

No the DD does come in very handy for cleaning up the basement storage when I get really bored.

+1 on the Dyson cordless. I also let my neighbors use it. they traveled with two cats and needed to see how it would work. they said they would be getting one also!

The wife tried a few and kept the Dirt Devil Stick. Great vacuum for the price.

On the road we use a Bissell 3-in-1 Vacuum. This a corded unit thus it would not be a good choice if you boon-dock. For $15.00 at Wally Mart it seems to do a good job. When we bring the 5er home we vacuum with the good old household Hoover.

We have a 90lb Husky and a 100lb Malamute. Both dogs do nothing but shed. After going thur several vaccuum's we ended up getting a shark which (for the money) is the best vaccuum we have ever had. Wife loves it because it gets all the dog hair and the front head is smaller so it fits in places that others would'nt.

This is the one we went with. Was 20.00 and works great we travel with three kids and a St.Bernard. Picks up hair and sand great. Also convertable. Its just a dustbuster with a handle and a wide suction end.

Ours has a Dirt Devil that was installed when we bought. I thought At first that it was a silly option. But you know when cleaning up and maintaining..... it works good and is convent. Turns out it is one of the most used options that we got.

I got a cheap Dirt Devil stick vac for the RV. It doesn't work as well as the bulky vacuum in the house, but it's more than good enough for the RV, takes up minimal space, and is light for hauling.

My dog would look really silly shaved down. We use the removable covers for the couch and she is not allowed on the other furniture (I know she probably goes on them all when we are not there but that is another issue). I can take that out and shake it off so the bulk of my furry friend is not on the couch and then use my Shark when I get home.

Mine is blue. Got it cheap at WalMart. Store it under the bed. Maybe a Eureka.
It works.
No dogs.
