Exterior Grill

Does anyone travel with the exterior mounted grill attached, or do you take it off? I feel like this is a stupid question, but I can't find anything about it in the Aussie manual. My dealership didn't have a recommendation.

I have never seen an external grill going down the road. I think it would be unsafe!

I have seen aluminum ladders attached to the rear RV ladder and also seen them hanging by a thread almost ready to fly off. Unsafe too!!

Not that I've ever seen, but I have seen a grill or two laying beside the roadway... so maybe

I would say most put them away for safe keeping.

On mine, unless I drill holes to bolt it to the stand, I can pretty much guarantee it will not ride on the back of the trailer. If you take it off the mounting stand (at least for me) it fits in the front storage where it's still easy to get to...

My grill slips over a flange along the back of the grill stand. There's nothing but gravity holding it onto the stand. I have no doubt the first bump I hit, the grill would be laying in the road. So, I take it off (about 5 seconds) and store it in the front compartment.

I would not recommend moving the RV with the grill attached to the stand. Even if it is "locked in place" by a spring loaded clamp (or ???) is the grill stand strong enough to withstand the bouncing with a relatively heavy grill attached without bending or breaking?

Do you plan on cooking while driving down the road? How can you flip the steak if you're driving? OK I guess if you hit a bump it might flip itself

It became more clear that it isn't designed to stay attached after I assembled it. I'll just throw it in the back of my truck.

Thanks for the responses.
