Slow slides

Worked my slides this morning and they seemed a little slow. Checked the battery, which was in the off position, it showed 12.1v. Turned the switch to on and it showed 13.5v, which I assume it's charging now. I leave it in the off position when parked at the house for extended periods of time. Is this good or bad? Also, when charging will the charger shut down when fully charged? I have a WFCO 75 amp converter.

And, I have these filters in the ceiling behind the vent grill for intake that are 7.5" X 13.5" It's stapled to a cardboard frame, which fits behind the grill. I can't find them anywhere on line. Have you seen these and where do I get them? Many Thanks

I may be mistaken because I'm new to this but I do believe if you disconnect the batteries, even though there is shore power, the slides will not work. This would tell me that a strong battery is desired. With that being said, the battery is charged while hooked to shore power if left in the on position and should not overcharge. I'm sure if I am incorrect, there are those with more knowledge than myself who can clarify.

The slide motors are powered by the 12v battery which needs to be fully charged before they will operate properly.

Most WFCO converters are 3 stage and they will sense which of the 3 modes it needs to be in by checking the condition of the batteries. A description of these 3 modes (Absorption, Bulk and Float) can be found in the Operator's Manual. The converter doesn't "shut down", it just goes into a different charging mode - similar to a trickle charge.

Engaging the Battery Disconnect switch will not remove all loads from the battery, there are still some small drains, such as Propane Detector, remote or controls boards and such. Although small drains they will kill a battery over time. With most of the newer Multi-stage Converters you can leave the battery connected with shore power applied and not hurt anything, plus your battery will be fully charged and ready to go anytime you are.

Got it. I'll do what's right and leave it plugged in. What about the air filter thing, anyone seen one of those? I'd post a picture, but don't know how. Thanks

There is a sticky thread in the Forum Technical Support section (by Hankpage) about posting photos. You will find directions there on how to post a picture or photo.

I'd suggest you create another new thread for your question about the filter. You may get a better response by having a separate thread for it.
