Heat Pump

Hi Experts,
I’m sure I’m not the only one with clitchs. My 5R has a ac/heat pump in the kitchen living area. On a recent trip, it was cold enough to run the heat pump rather then burn up my propane. During the day it was working very well. During the night i heard the furnace kick on. The next morning i checked the thermostat
And switch and cycled through the menu. It kept going to the furnace even though i had turned on the heat pump. Any ideas.

What's the outdoor temp when trying to activate the heat pump?

First thought I had as well. Heat pumps don’t work well below 35 degrees. I’m assuming it’s not that cold this time of year, but it could be. What happens if you set the mode to auto?

If there is more than a 5 degree split between interior temp and desired set temp, the furnace will come on to assist in heating the unit. The heat pump is more of a “maintain” the temp and not so much a “heat the trailer” when temps fall.

might have a outdoor sensor that locks the heat pump out below 35 or 40 deg…if it’s user set or a fixed temp if from the factory…that’s the way residential dual fuel systems work

Heat Pump

Thank you all. I was hopeful it was something simple. It does make sense when you slow down to process the information. I’m sure I will have more questions as this journey continues. Thanks again.
