Great move to check in BEFORE you buy a trailer.
- The RV salesmen will tell you your truck will pull anything - just to get a sale.
- You need to recognize the difference between "pulling" and "hauling" in order to safely tow with your truck.
- The limiting factor will likely be "payload" - how much weight can you put in your truck when towing.
Before you shop, take a picture of your Payload sticker for YOUR truck. You will find lots of charts and get lots of opinions on the internet - the only payload number that applies to you are the numbers on that sticker! You can mostly ignore what the salesmen tell you. If you have questions, post a picture of your payload sticker here - there are lots of knowledgeable people in the forum who are willing to help.
Best of all - have fun dreaming about the future, making plans, and shopping for your "dream" camper!
